I remember watching this race on TV, even remember the announcers shouting the victory. It was a wonderful, exciting moment to watch, so I can only imagine the intense thrill and joy you felt when you snapped this photo, Jessie.
And BTW, this shot is a hundred-times better than anything the TV cameramen captured. Here, we get to see California Chrome in all his glory; his rippling muscles, the way his hind legs kick up the dirt, his long beautiful legs stretching out powerfully towards the finish line...these are details that only a still photograph can capture. And like the previous photo you took of Chrome and Espinoza, you can just tell how well in sync they are in this image. You've taken a gorgeous victory shot here!
oviwpuvbweubvw[ebuv[oweb Your work got buried in my inbox. I had no idea you were there, you're so fortunate. I'm very glad you were able to be there and catch these gorgeous shots. I was photoing quarter horse racing that day and kept checking the twitter feeds like a nut before the Preakness. I seriously danced around the paddock when they told me he won.
gods I love you sooo much! And I'm trying to get a shirt of him for everyone is buying on ebay!! *squirms*
I love this horse so much I had to go back to see his baby pics and he's gorgeous!!
Congrats again Victor Espinoza, his jockey, owners: Steve Coburn,Perry Martin and of course oldest trainer of 77yrs, Art Sherman!! What an honor to be there then watching a boring box XD The artificial world is never so great as the real world!
LUCKY you! And I still have anxiety for the Chrome to win the Belmont! I soo hope I get chills O.O
