Says Javier Castellano on Yankee Empire...and me...after we both failed to see Grassy flying on the outside to capture one of the most thrilling races I've ever seen live. The 9th race on the turf at Saratoga on 8/22/09 resulted in an insane finish that saw the top six finishers all separated by a nose. It prompted a lively reaction from the crowd. Never before had I seen a group of losing horses receive an ovation as they returned to their grooms.

I saw that race on TVG, what an incredible finish! It was even more amazing when you consider Grassy stumbled at the start.
